Our Winston Heights backyard suite project began as a “Benjamin” package with 572 square feet of upstairs living space. Looking for more square footage to add an office/flex space, our client requested we expand the size of the living area by more than 50 square feet to accommodate a den area.

Other additional upgrades requested by our client include (but are not limited to):

  • Extended garage
  • Additional kitchen countertop and cabinetry
  • Custom MDF shelving
  • Extra windows

This particular project has a power pole located on the back corner in the alley, near the lot and space where the garage suite is to be built. Upon submission of the development permit, we found out that Enmax had changed its rules around power pole clearances; therefore, we were required to change the design of the suite to meet the new regulations which we were happy to do for no additional cost.

Today, the development permit is complete for this backyard suite project in Winston Heights/Mountview, and we are well on our way to beginning construction soon!
