Our Ramsay backyard suite project began as a “Xavier” package with a maximum of 750 square feet of upstairs living space with an additional 100 square feet for the interior stair and entrance way.
Despite the suite reaching a maximum size of ~850 square feet without relaxation by the city, our client requested the addition of another 50 square feet to add more functional space for an office to use for their family business. Therefore, we moved the access stair to the outside to allow for more interior square footage.
Apart from the sheer size of the suite, this high-end project has a ton of luxury upgrades, including (but not limited to):

- Garage bay partition
- Upgraded window package
- Custom MDF shelving
- Concrete walkway
- Spray-foam insulation throughout

During the permitting phase, our clients requested to add some features that weren’t approved by the city. For example, we tried putting a 20-foot by 20-foot concrete pad in front of the suite for additional parking, however, the city denied the request because of the suite’s position relative to the backlane and also shadowing that it would cause in the neighbour’s backyards.
Currently under construction, this stunning backyard suite in Ramsay Calgary will be an absolute show-stopper once complete. With all the bells and whistles you could ever ask for, we are extremely excited to be on our way to completing another beautiful suite for another one of our clients!
